CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by Commissioner Coy Kaylor at
2:00 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce office.
MONTHLY REPORTS:
MINUTES
It was moved by Waselues, second by Fennel that the minutes
of the October 4 meeting be approved. Motion carried.
FINANCIAL
Ben Mayes presented the financial report. HMR collections
were $77,619 in October, an increase of 1.60% over 1994
collections. Total year to date collections are
$766,350 an increase of 7.17%. October expenditures were
$ 81,924. Year to date expenditures $619,490.
Moved by Jerde, second by Fennel to approve the financial
report. Motion carried. Discussion followed regarding late
payment of HMR taxes and an ordinance to collect late taxes
with fines for late payment.
ACTIVITY REPORT
Marilyn Johnson reviewed October activities of Convention
Visitor Development. Inquiry responses year to date total
35,273. Advertising inquiries continue to increase over
1994; however, relocation inquiries continue to be down for
this quarter.
Motion by Fennel, second by Jerde to approve the Convention
Visitor Report. Motion carried.
AGENCY REPORT
Brad Ruth and Susan Stirewalt presented media recommendations
for 1996.
Motion by Fennel, second by Hanna to approve the Agency
report and 1996 media placement recommendations. Motion
carried.
OLD BUSINESS:
APPROVAL OF CONTRACT WITH WITTENBURG, DELONY & DAVIDSON
Motion was made by Fennel, second by Jerde to approve a
contract between the Advertising and Promotion Commission and
Wittenburg, Delony & Davidson for schematic design
($48,262.50) and feasibility study ($45,000.00) for Exhibit
Hall/Town Center. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF 1996 BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS
Following discussion, motion by Fennel to approve 1996 budget
appropriations, second by Waselues. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS: None
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Joe Fennel announced that as of 11:00 a.m. John McDonnell and
the U of A had won another national championship.
There will be no meeting of the A & P Commission in December.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
