The meeting was called to order by Chairman Coy Kaylor at
2:00 p.m.
MONTHLY REPORTS:
MINUTES: Motion by Vorsanger, second by Fennel to approve
the minutes as mailed. Motion carried.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Ben Mayes reported litle activity as
far as expenses from November figures. December bill from
Blackwood Martin is not shown on expenses and is to be paid
from 1992 funds.
December HMR collection was down approximately 1% from last
year (From $53,080 to $52,797 in 1992). However, total HMR
tax collection is up 13.98% for 1992.
Ben presented a history of HMR tax collections since
1977 which indicated a 10.33% average increase.
ACTIVITY REPORT: December 800 Number inquiries were from 96
in 1991 to 208 in 1992. Inquiry responses were 85 in
December.

OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
Springfest - Bill Walker presented a proposal on behalf of
Springfest requesting $6,000 for an advertising campaign.
Motion by Vorsanger, second by Fennel to approve request.
Motion carried.
Today magazine, inc. - Smitty O'Laughlin announced that his
new publication Today will begin distribution March 1 in
Fayetteville -Springdale area. Ten thousand copies will be
distributed through car rental agencies at the airport.
Targeted markets will be newcomers, business travelers, and
tourists. The publication will fill a void in the market for
what to see, what to do, and where to go. O'Laughlin will
work with Marilyn Johnson and the advertising agency for
editorial copy.
Motion by Vorsanger, second by Hanna to support the endeavor.
OTHER BUSINESS:
It was announced that the Park Inn will change its ..franchise
to Clarion on January 6, 1993.
Motion to adjourn by Vorsanger, second by Fennel. Motion
carried. Meeting was adjourned at 3:00 pm.
