MICHELLE GALLOWAY, ALETT LITTLE, ED BARHAM, AND STEVE WARD.
CALL TO ORDER: Michael Green called the meeting to order at 3:00
p.m.
MINUTES: Motion by Coy Kaylor seconded by Jim Waselus to approve
the minutes as read. Carried.
BUSINESS:
Maps Update: Ed Barham reviewed the MAPS meeting and distributed
and updated book with the results of the MAPS meeting. Ed
encouraged those present to review the booklet noting the
schedule for the new programs that were listed.
•Interim Advertising: Ed Barham showed those present the Ad and
• Ad space used in the NWA Tourism Book and the State Tour Guide.
The deadlines for space is prior to the next A & P meeting for
both publications. Motion by Jim Waselus, seconded by Pat Henry
to approve the Ad space as recommended by Ed Barham and to commit
to the space at a cost of $8,100.00 for the State Tour Guide
and $4,485.00 for the Northwest Arkansass Tourism Guide. Motion
carried.
Ad Copy for both publications will be presented at the August
A & P meeting.

800 Number -Steve Ward reported 934 calls had been received last
month with Virginia, Tennessee and Texas being the primary states
calling for information. A new 800 number was discussed with a
list of possible numbers reviewed. Motion by Pat Henry, seconded
by Jim Waselus, to adopt 1 -800 -WELCOME as the new number,
subject to its availability. Motion Carried.
• OTHER BUSINESS:
Budget Adjustment -Richard Shewmaker reported the Economic
• Developmenta Department has spent the $15,000 originally budgeted
and s 'now4:respectfully requesting the additional $15,000
committed,''?for•promotion. Richard reviewed the expenses to date.
Motion`byeyMike Green, seconded by Jim Waselus, to transfer

Department for promotion. Motion Carried.
