Dale Christy, Mark Blackwood, Steve Selin, Tom Jordan, Gwyn Wood 1. The meeting was called to order by Michael Green. 2. Minutes of the August 28 meeting were approved. 3. Dale Christy presented a recap of the 1989 budget expenditures thru September as per the two enclosures made a part of these minutes. 4. Steve Selin reported that he is in the process of tabulating a portion of the Visitor Study and is in fact collecting the final phase of the hotel/motelsurvey at this time. His proposal stated that the final report would be ready in early February. Selin agreed to share any preliminary information of significance with Mark Blackwood as he prepares suggestions for the 1990 advertising budget. 5. It was agreed to explore all ideas for future advertising and promotion policies at the November meeting in an effort to arrive at our preliminary priorities to guide the agency in preparing a plan for 1990. - ' _ -7-- Organizations '"Organizations seeking funding for 1990 were encouraged to get their written requests to Dale Christy by mid-November so that the Commission could know of their interest during budget deliberations. 6. Tom Jordan requested help from the Commission in re -printing a brochure for the Air Museum. On a motion by Vorsanger, second by Clodfelter, $1,000 was allocated from the special project budget to cover the printing of 20,000 brochures. It was agreed that an acknowledgement would be given in the brochure of the Commission's financial support. • • • 7. Coy Kaylor presented a resolution requesting the Fayetteville City Board of Directors to 'call a referendum election on the question of authorizing the sale of alchoholic beverages for on -premises consumption at hotels and retaur- ants in the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, as authorized in Ark. Code Ann. sections 3-9-201, et seq. (1987). The motion was seconded by Clodfelter and carried with 3 affirmative votes and 2 abstentions (Green and Vorsanger). 8. The next meeting will be Monday, November 27, 3:00 p.m. at City Hall. MEETING: ADJOURNED •
