ACTION: 1. The meeting was called to order by Michael Green.
2. Minutes of the April 3 meeting were approved.

3. Mark Blackwood reviewed the layout, copy and pro-
posed photography of the new Visitor's Guide. After discuss-
ion the agency and sub -committee were authorized to proceed.
4. Jack Rash and Mike Donat of Interactive Technology
presented a proposal and demonstration for the preparation of
a data disc. The Commission approve $5,000 for the project
with the following modifications:
a. item 3 date changed to May 22, 1989.
b. item 4 to .include training so in-house personnel
could perform duplication service at no charge.
item 1 expanded to include training of personnel
and preparation of written instructions on the
updating and complete use of the program.
d. add item 7 - the system must be so arranged that
information can be printed.on hard .copy,in
marketable form.
5. Richard Shewmaker gave a brief report on the
Urban Horizons conference held in Indianapolis, IN on April
16-19, 1989.

6. Steve Selin gave an updated report on the outline
for the Tourism Study to be conducted this Summer and Fall.
Copy made a part of minutes.
7. The Commission discussed possible advertising at
the airport, in rental cars and in hotel rooms. They also
discussed the potential effect on Fayetteville of the new
hotels to be opened soon on U. S. 71.
8. Next meeting: Monday, June 26, 3 p.m., City Hall
