ACTION: 1. Mayor Johnson recognized a group from the
Music Festival of Arkansas to make a request for 1988 funding.
They distributed a packet of material and their specific re-
quest for $5,000 in placement advertising and $2,100 for help
in printing materials - the same as last year's support.
In further discussion, it was noted that they also seek
$3,000 for technical expenses and $600 for help with office ex-
penses from the City general fund.
Mayor Johnson and Director Hess indicated they would
favor all funding for this event coming from A & P rather than
the general fund. It was agreed that we would look at the full
request in developing the A & P budget. It was noted that this
commission will consider preliminary budget figures in January.
Shea Crain noted that one of their ads must be placed
in early January for publication. The commission indicated ap-
proval of covering this ad if it'needs to be placed before con-
sideration can be given their budget request.
2. There will not be a meeting in December.
Dale Christy will work with Scott Linebaugh and the agency to
develop a preliminary budget proposal for the January 26 meet-
ing.
