GROUP: CITY ADVERTISING & PROMOTION COMMISSION

ACTION: 1. Mark Blackwood discussed agency ideas for
continuing activity on the FlyFyv campaign to include such
things as running more ads by the City as per the campaign of
last Fall, creating a sig for possible use by the airlines in
their ads, providing easel copies of ads for airline counter
display, providing buttons for airline employees, etc.
The background on this campaign was discussed and it
was pointed out that the money originally allocated by the City
for the matching program was not used as intended and was not
continued in the 1987 City budget. This means that any further
program will have to be funded.
2. It was agreed that we should proceed with
distribution of the FlyFyv note cubes to the travel agencies in
Northwest Arkansas as soon as practical. Dale Frederick agreed
that airport staff would do this right away.
3. It was agreed that Frederick would provide a
copy of the recent air service survey to Christy to distribute
to members of the Commission so that we could discuss this:mat-
ter further at the next meeting.
4. It was the concensus that after reviewing
all this material, we should develop a plan for advertising the
airport and seek funding from needed sources to implement such
a plan in next year's budget.
5. Representatives of KFAY-KKEG were present
and offered some suggestions for consideration including the
idea that we might want to offer coop support to airlines based
on advertising they might generate to accomplish our stated air
service advertising.
