Chair Deweese introduced Holly Johnson, who was present for the meeting as a representative from the Fayetteville School District. Johnson is the Director of Development, Grants & Community Relations for the Fayetteville Public Schools. Johnson, upon request by Deweese, provided information about herself to the Committee and stated that she is pleased to attend the meetings and convey any information back to the School District that the Committee would like. The committee welcomed her and the school district representation at this and future meetings. Chair Deweese then informed the Committee that Chancellor Gearhart has appointed the new President of the Associated Student Government at the University of Arkansas, Bo Renner, to the position on the Committee previously held by former ASG President Tori Pohlner, who graduated after the 2013 Spring Semester. With the majority of Committee members representing the City of Fayetteville absent due to the afternoon severe weather warnings and the need for these city members to conduct city safety and preparation measures, Chair Deweese inquired to the Committee whether to continue on with the meeting with 12 members (2 as proxy attendees) or cancel the meeting. Bev Lewis asked the position of the City members, and staff member Lindsley Smith reported what member Don Marr had provided to her prior to the meeting that the City preference was to cancel the meeting so that they could be present for the Committee discussions and members who could not be present due to their emergency safety roles were to make presentations to the Committee. Jeremy Pate stated that with a significant number unable to attend that if the Committee in part discussed information that the Committee would need to review the same information at the next meeting, so it appears appropriate under the circumstances to cancel this meeting to review the information in the next meeting. Chair Deweese sought the opinion of the committee on adjournment of the meeting, which was so moved by Richard Hudson and provided a second by Steve Clark. The motion to adjourn was approved unanimously, and the meeting adjourned at 3:20 p.m. Submitted by, Lindsley Smith, Committee Staff
