Topics Lead by... Action Groups and Other Reporting Historic Heritage Action Group - Steve Smith and Tori Pohlner Steve Smith reported that the group will have its first meeting on January 24. Paula Marinoni, former Historic Heritage Action Group Chair will provide the mission statement and historical resources master plan that had previously been developed. The group will look at a QR Reader and Designation System for historical sites among other things. More to come after first meeting! Creative Economy — Caleb Clark • CEAG sponsored Last Night New Year's Eve celebration and it was a big success! • The creative directory app is coming along and will provide an entry form for creatives to enter themselves and their own contact information. Susan 1 Norton Peg Hart - Research and Technology Park Peg announced that Arkansas Business had awarded Fayetteville as a City of Distinction for Technology Advancements. Green Economy — Damon Dux Fayetteville was also awarded City of Distinction for Green Energy/ Conservation Initiatives. Damon has taken over facilitator of Green Economy group as Sarah Marsh is now on City Council. Sarah will be the Council appointee to FFEAC. Quinn Montana is the vice facilitator and Keaton Smith is the Treasurer. They have achieved 5016 status. They are looking at energy efficiency financing strategies and will hear from Patricia Nation, a Republican lawyer from Little Rock at their next meeting with a talk "Even Conservatives can Go Green." FFEAC Council Meeting Notes Chamber of Commerce- Steve Clark CycleWood Solutions Inc., a startup company that is a Genesis Technology Incubator client at the university in Fayetteville, is working to produce an environmentally friendly alternative to the polyethylene bags used in stores. The Chamber is continuing work with the Steven Covey Foundation with the Leader in Me. Washington and Holcomb elementary are already participating and a new grant from the Walkers will go to Asbell to implement Leader in Me. Next Gen Illumination is a recipient of one of the Arkansas Energy Office's Green Technology Grants to provide LED Demonstrations throughout the state. Education — Susan Norton Susan reported on the new eBooks project in Fayetteville school libraries. Over 500 volumes and over 500 student accounts have been created so far. Transportation Group — Matt Hoffman Matt attended the meeting to listen and will work to create a proposal to resurrect the transportation group with an emphasis on planning policy. Susan will send him the collaboration agreements and forms. FFEAC — new goals • Produce list/ video of accomplishments: Caleb reported on behalf of Colleen Pancake that she has an objective to produce the updated video on FFEAC activities. Susan Norton
