Action Groups and Other Reporting
Inclusion — Pattie Williams
a) Rachael Townsend will be the Inclusion Group rep for the FFEAC.They have
been working on a strategic plan and Pattie says they will report on that plan at the
next meeting.
Local Foods — Teresa was not able to join at this meeting but remains active. Julie
mentioned that the Local Food Guide just went to the printers.
Creative Economy — Caleb Clark and Colleen Pancake
a)CEAG is involved in a strategic planning process and creating a creative directory
of artists with specific skill sets.
b)CEAG will continue to plan annual Last Night events. Party to launch Last Night
planning is scheduled for June 30.
c)CEAG is looking at an Artist Incubator Lectures Series.
d)Plans to conduct a survey of area residents to create a knowledge base of who
our citizens are and what they value in the creative economy.

a) Green economy group had mixer -150 people showed up! Various presentations
were made. Another is scheduled in June to be hosted by the Chamber's
GreeNWAy initiative.
b)Received Pace (Properly Assessed Clean Energy) bumper stickers to build
support. See Shelley Buonaiuto to purchase yours today!
c)Green Directory Committee compiled a Green Economy Networks list to identify
other groups and individuals that are working towards similar goals.
d)A delegation of members was sent to Rep. Kathy Web's Status of Women
committee meeting at the capitol and learned the facts on gender-based wage and
employment disparities as well as access to and affordability of health care in
Arkansas.
e)At last Green Economy meeting, Stephen Smith outlined campaign strategy for
helping with the passage of the transit measure on May 22 and John Kester
presented an overview of lessons learned from his visit with a green economy
group in Arlington, Va.
FFEAC Council Meeting Notes
Chamber Update — Steve Clark
a) Steve Clark spoke about the entrepreneur camp that will be open soon. The
camp can have up to 70 campers that must come with a business idea or business
plan in science, technology, retail, etc.. Will invite 10 students from surrounding
schools. Will be introduced to local entrepreneurs. Lawyer s, Accountants, teacher,
camp fees $50 but will have scholarships.
Winners will have legal feeds paid for to become incorporated and will have
assistant from an accountant. Can't start too soon!
Public Education — Susan Norton
a) Susan presented a video to capture the sustainability initiatives in the
Fayetteville Public School Systems. It is to be shown in Boston at the National
School Boards Association Conference April 24, and is on their web site at
www.fayar.net.

a)Mayor Jordan spoke about the farmers market opening again and mentioned they

are in the final stages of the parking deck conversation.
b)Dickson St area HMR taxes 7.7% growth; 5.5% city tax growth.

c)Walk the trail to Wilson park as part of Michelle Obama health initiative!
d)We are continuing to meet with Forcenet. 1 barge is equal to 80 trucks. Cuts
back on fossil fuels.
FFEAC Council Meeting Notes
Topic # 1—Process for filing collaborative agreements
The group finalized the collaborative agreements documents with the FFEAC logo
and agreed by consensus to do the following:
Susan will send out the documents to FFEAC group leaders.
Existing groups and potential groups or projects will be asked to complete the
Collaboration Agreement Form by December 31, 2011, and to present their ideas at
a regularly scheduled FFEAC meeting. Thanks to the Green Economy for leading
the way! Julie will upload the documents to Community Link.

An FAQ to provide assistance for start-up groups will need to be developed. Susan
Pattie
and Colleen volunteered to help Julie with this.
Williams
The group reiterated that the entire purpose for the Collaborative Agreement is to
help develop the value proposition for each group and to give the FFEAC some
visibility into the goals of each group to determine how best we can help, especially
with start-ups and to help through transition periods. The Mayor stated that this is
an opportunity for collaboration, for "hooking everyone up!" and that we are
creating a unique structure and process that can continue beyond the existing
administration into the future for Fayetteville
Topic # 2 —Directories
For groups working on directories, Julie can provide the hosting site, which is built
with Word Press which is flexible so that different directories could both be hosted.
Julie asked how close groups are to having directories and asked members to talk

with their groups and be clear on the types of information and how they are

presented. In what form do you see the initial page for the directory and the
categories? Then we can collaborate on the structure.
Between now and June meeting of FFEAC gather information to provide to Julie.

Julie asked Susan how long she wanted to facilitate the FFEAC. Susan indicated

until someone else would like to and Julie prompted Tom Sawyer to consider it.
