facilitator and who will participate on council. Mikel also mentioned work he is
doing in Little Rock and preparation for 2012-2017 plans.
Local Food Group – Teresa Maurer
Teresa reported that her group has merged their efforts with Susan Drouilhet's
work (which began as subcommittee of Environmental Action Committee) on an
initiative to produce a local food guide in print and online. Thanks to Fayetteville
Visitor Center support (making 1000 copies) a small pilot print guide has been
produced as a springboard for a bigger effort in 2012. Teresa passed out copies of
the 8 page 2011 pilot which includes initial info on regional farmers markets,
restaurants, individual farms, etc. which feature local food. Pattie offered to send
list of places where the next copy of the guide might be publicized. Group will be
seeking resources and partnerships to produce the 2012 guide and hopes to use
Community Link to publicize guide and generate additional entries.
