Council Discussion
Overview of what was discussed and decided in the April Meeting
Interim Working Agreements of FFEAC.
The council agrees the list of priorities created during the October 2nd
working meeting are still critical, and this should still be the focus of our
efforts at the council level. In this list includes the evaluation and work to
structure the council toward action and responsibility. This list, and the
2
subtle changes the council is making in the day to day responsibilities of
Mark
running the council is reflected and is an extension of the work of the council
Larmoyeux
on October 2nd.
All council members agreed it was time for the council members to be
responsible for the running of FFEAC.
All council members agreed the partnership with the city will remain as it is
today, and that this relationship is both desired and critical to the long term
success of the council.
All council members agreed the partnership with the Chamber and the
University will remain as it is today, and that this relationship is both desired
and critical to the long term success of the council.

April Meeting Notes
The council seeks to have Julie remain as the liaison between the City and the
Council. Julie will continue to schedule the library and the video taping of
the meetings, and will look to Julie for expertise on legalities, procedures,
history, etc. We fully expect for Julie to share her perspectives on council
matters.
The council agrees that until a more formal structure is established, the
council will have a coordinator. The interim coordinator will be Mark
Larmoyeux and will last for 3 months (through the July meeting). The
coordinator is responsible for;
o Setting the agenda for the upcoming meetings.
Contacting the council members to check if there is anything they would
like to have on the agenda, address any concerns, and attempt to
connect people and resources where there is an opportunity.
The council agrees that the person facilitating the meeting is not necessarily
the same person as the coordinator. The coordinator and the facilitator will
work together to setup and manage the meetings.
The council agrees that the facilitator can vary from meeting to meeting. In
situations where a council member may wish to give a presentation or lead an
activity, then they may be the facilitator for part of, or most of the meeting. In
essense, a meeting may have multiple facilitators. The goal is to keep this
somewhat less formal, more flexible.
The council agrees the FFEAC meetings should have a scribe and that
meeting notes should be taken and posted. Christopher Spencer has agreed
to be the interim scribe for the next 3 months (through the July meeting) in
order to bring some initial stability for this responsibility.
Concerns expressed

2. Becoming too structured, too inflexible.
