HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-06-10 MinutesMINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION A regular meeting of the Fayetteville Historic District Commission was held on April 8, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 326 in the City Administration Building at 113 W. Mountain Street, Fayetteville, Arkansas. HDC Brochure ACTION TAKEN Approved Reconsideration of the Preserve America signage Approved Historic District Commission June 10, 2010 Page 2 MEMBERS PRESENT Mark Alt Cheri Coley Annie Dowling Mikel Lolley MEMBERS ABSENT Ethel Goodstein-Murphree Cindy Kalke Karon Reese STAFF PRESENT STAFF ABSENT Dara Sanders, Current Planner 2 Historic District Commission June 10, 2010 Page 3 CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Commissioner Lolley at 5:53 p.m. I. Minutes Commissioner Coley made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 12`h meeting. Commissioner Alt seconded the motion. Upon role call the motion passed with a vote of 4-0-0. II. Announcements Dara Sanders announced the results of Fayetteville's "Best Of' survey Commissioner Dowling asked if the Commission could present certificates to the winners and suggested that the results be evaluated for next year's awards program. Commissioners agreed with the providing certificates. Commissioner Lolley discussed the process for the next year and recommended an agenda item on each agenda for discussion of the awards program. III. Old Business HDC Brochure Dara Sanders explained the progress of the project and presented the changes requested and recommended approval of the brochure subject to future editing of the text. Commissioners discussed the presentation and sources for information. Commissioner Alt made a motion to approve the general layout of the draft brochure and that the Commissioners agree to contribute to the finalization text. Commissioner Coley seconded the motion. Upon role call the motion passed with a vote of 4-0-0. IV. New Business Preserve America Signage Commissioner Lolley expressed concern with the approved location of the Preserve America signage because he's noticed damaged trees from vehicular impact and asked staff how to change the approved location. Sanders explained that a motion and second to reconsider the item must be approved by the majority. 3 Historic District Commission June 10, 2010 Page 4 Commissioner Coley made a motion to reconsider and directed staff to provide the previous information. Commissioner Dowling seconded the motion. Upon role call the motion passed with a vote of 4-0-0. MEETING ADJOURNED: 6:45 P.M. 11
