HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-06-01 MinutesMINUTES OF A FIREMEN'S PENSION AND RELIEF BOARD MEETING A meeting of the Firemen's Pension and Relief Board was held on Monday, June 1, 1981, at 4:30 p.m. in the City Manager's Office, City Administration Building, Fayetteville, Arkansas. PRESENT: Treasurer Scott Linebaugh, Members Paul Logue, Ralph Tate Larry Freedle, Robert Johnson, John Dill; City Manager Grimes, and Secretary Vivian Koettel. ABSENT: None MINUTES The minutes of the May 4, 1981 meeting were approved as submitted. PENSION LIST There were no additions or deletions to the pension list, and a motion was made and seconded to approve the pension list for June. The motion passed unanimously. OLD INVESTMENTS Treasurer Linebaugh reported that certificate #10766 had been deposited with First Federal at 18.05% interest for 182 days, to mature on November 9th. The amount is $212,395. Motion was made and seconded to approve this certificate. Motion passed unanimously. NEW INVESTMENTS Treasurer Linebaugh reported that there were no investments coming due the month of June. The next one would be due July 20 and then July 27. The first one is for $211,000 and the other for $145,000. Both of these will be taken care of at the next meeting. OTHER BUSINESS Discussion was held on receiving input from City Attorney Jim McCord on what action was necessary concerning some of the bills passed by the State legislature City Manager Grimes stated he would ask McCord to send a memo outlining the necessary procedures and steps to be taken.
