HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-12-01 MinutesMINUTES OF A FIREMEN'S PENSION AND RELIEF BOARD MEETING A meeting of the Firemen's Pension and Relief Board was held on Monday, December 1, 1980, at 4:30 p.m. in the City Manager's Office, City Administration Building, Fayetteville, Arkansas. PRESENT: Treasurer Scott Linebaugh; Secretary Vivian Koettel; Members Paul Logue, Troy Osburn, Ralph Tate, Gene Warford, Larry Freedle; City Manager Grimes MINUTES The minutes of the November 3, 1980 meeting were approved as submitted. PENSION LIST There were no additions to the pension list for the month of December. Larry Freedle, seconded by Gene Warford, moved to approve the pension list for the month of December and the motion passed unanimously. INVESTMENTS Treasurer Linebaugh reported that certificate #4336 had been placed in Northwest National Bank for one year at 14.75%. The CD is for $100,000. Mr. Linebaugh reported that there were no CDs coming up for the month of December. He stated that the next two were due January 17 and January 25 in the amounts of $164,000 and $112,000. City Manager Grimes asked Treasurer Linebaugh if there were any investments drawing low enough interest rates to cause the Board to consider withdrawing them and taking a penalty and reinvesting at a higher rate of interest. Treasurer Linebaugh answered there were none drawing low enough interest for that action to be profitable, but that he would keep the Board informed. OTHER BUSINESS Fire Chief Logue reported that Retired Fireman James:2E. Harris' wife passed away and asked that he be informed on whom his beneficiary would be under the pension plan.
