A meeting of the Firemen's Pension & Relief Board was held on Monday,
June 4, 1979, at 4:20 P.M. in the City Controller's Office, City Administra-
tion Building, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
PRESENT: Treasurer Pat Tobin, Fire Chief Paul Logue, Members Eugene Warford,
Larry Freedle, Roy Cate (arrived 4:30 P.M.), and Secretary Angie Medlock.
ABSENT: Chairman Don Grimes.
Treasurer and Acting Chairman Tobin called the meeting to order.
The minutes of the May 7 Firemen's Pension & Relief Board meeting were approved
as submitted.
PENSION LIST
There being no corrections or additions to the Pension List, the list was
approved as submitted for the month of June.
OLD BUSINESS
Treasurer Tobin said he had made the following investments for the month
of May: $14,000 at First Federal at 9.617%
$26,000 at Mcllroy Bank at 9.617%
$ 29,000 at Northwest National at 9.50.
Tobin explained that these deposits were made for a six-month current money
market certificate, as requested at the previous meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Treasurer Tobin noted the following investments which would come due during
the month of June: June 9 $20,000 at Northwest National at 8.10%
June 30, $164,000 at Fayetteville Savings & Loan at 7 3/4%.
Tobin suggested they reinvest the $20,000 in a current money market certificate:
and said he felt the interest rate would be approximately 9.4%. He suggested they
solicit bids for the $164,000 investment for a one-year Certificate of Deposit...
Paul Logue moved to accept Tobin's recommendations. Larry Freedle seconded
the motion, which passed unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:35 P.M.
