RELIEF FUND BOARD
The Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund Board met on
4:30 p.m. in the City Manager's Office.
PRESENT: Chairman Don Grimes; Treasurer Pat Tobin
Westbrook; and Board members Marion Doss
Howard Boudrey, and Dean Harris.
ABSENT: Chief Charles McWhorter

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Grimes. Minutes of the March
7, 1977 meeting had been distributed to members prior to the meeting.
Dean Harris, seconded by Marion Doss, moved the minutes be approved as
submitted. The motion carried unanimously.
The Chairman presented the retirement application of Chief Charles
McWhorter effective April 10, 1977 with a monthly pension of $685.14.
Howard Boudrey, seconded by Dennis Mullens, moved the application be
accepted. The motion carried unanimously.
Dennis Mullens, seconded by Marion Doss, then moved the pension list
for the month of April be approved with the addition of Charles McWhorter
at a pro -rated amount for the month of April. The motion carried unanimously.
The Board discussed briefly measures which might be adopted to encourage
firemen to remain with the force following twenty years' service.
Marion Doss, seconded by Dean Harris, moved that a $26,000 certificate of
deposit be allowed to renew automatically for one year at 74% at Mcllroy
Bank. The motion carried unanimously. Marion Doss, seconded by Dean
Harris moved that $17,000 certificate of deposit be renewed at
Northwest National Bank for one year at an interest rate of 6.5%. The
motion carried unanimously. Marion Doss, seconded by Howard Boudrey,
moved that the Board confirm an investment made by the City Treasurer
with the purchase of a $14,000 certificate of deposit for one year at
6.5% at Northwest National Bank. The motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business for consideration, the Chairman declared
the meeting adjourned.
