FUND BOARD
August 9, 1976
The regular monthly meeting of the Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund
Board, postponed from August 2 for lack of quorum, was held August
9, 1976, at 4:30 pi.m. in the Office of the City Manager
PRESENT: Chairman Don Grimes; Treasurer Pat Tobin; Secretary Darlene West-
brook; and Board members Fire Chief Charles McWhorter, Dean Harris,
and Howard Boudrey.
ABSENT: Dennis Mullens, Marion Doss
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Grimes. Minutes of the July
12, 1976 meeting had been distributed to members of the Board prior to the
meeting. Chief McWhorter, seconded by Harris, moved the minutes be approved
as submitted. The motion carried unanimously.
Chief McWhorter, seconded by Boudrey, moved the pension list for the month
of August be approved. The motion carried unanimously.
The Treasurer reported that a payment of $32,496.20 had been received from
the State Insurance Commission. He reported that the fund had $17,000 in
cash, $10,000 of which he recommended be combined with $32,000 of the
receipts from the Insurance Commission and a $20,000 Certificate of
Deposit to make a total of 462,000 to be invested in a certificate of
deposit for one year at the Northwest National Bank at an interest rate
of 7.55. Chief McWhorter made a motion to accept the treasurer's recom-
mendation. The motion, seconded by Boudrey, carried unanimously.
Chief McWhorter acknowledged receipt of the second quarterly financial
report, a copy of which is made a part of these minutes.
There being no further business, Chief McWhorter, seconded by Boudrey,
moved the meeting be adourned. The motion carried unanimously and the
Chairman declared the meeting adjourned.
