April 5, 1976
The regular monthly meeting of the Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund Board
was held April 5, 1976, at 4:30 p.m., in the Office of the City Manager.
PRESENT: Chairman Donald L. Grimes; Treasurer Pat Tobin; Secretary
Darlene Westbrook; Fire Chief Charles McWhorter; and Board
members Howard Boudrey, Ronald McArthur, and. Don Miller.
ABSENT: Dean Harris
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Grimes. Minutes of the
March 1, 1976 meeting had been distributed to members of the Board prior
to the meeting. Charles McWhorter, seconded by Howard Boudrey, moved that
the minutes be approved as submitted. The motion carried unanimously in
voice vote of the Board.
Don Miller, seconded by Charles McWhorter, moved that the pension list for
the month of April be approved. In voice vote of the Board the motion
carried unanimously.
Chief McWhorter reported that he had personally collected pension contri-
butions from part -paid firemen for the year 1975.
Treasurer Pat Tobin distributed copies of the 1976 First Quarter financial
statement to Board members and briefly reviewed the statement with the
members. (A copy of the statement is attached and made a part of these
minutes). Mr. Tobin recommended that $20,000 be invested for a 30 -day
period at an institution offering the highest interest rate.
Chief McWhorter so moved, the motion being seconded by Howard Boudrey.
The motion carried unanimously in voice vote of the Board.
There being no further business for the Board's consideration, Chief
McWhorter, seconded by Don Miller, moved the meeting be adjourned.
The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned by Chairman Grimes.
