HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-05-04 MinutesMINUTES OF A FIRE PENSION & RELIEF FUND BOARD MEETING A regular meeting of the Fayetteville Fire Pension and Relief Fund Board of Trustees was held on Monday, May 4, 1987, at 1:30 p.m. in Room 313 of City Hall, 113 West Mountain Street, Fayetteville, Arkansas. PRESENT: Chairman Linebaugh, Fire Chief Mickey Jackson, Firemen Pete Reagan and John Dill, Retiree Carl Springston. ABSENT: Fireman Darrell Judy, Secretary Suzanne McWethy. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman Scott Linebaugh. MINUTES Minutes of the last meeting were approved unanimously with two amendments: Correcting "wa" to "was" under "Minutes" and adding the total amount of savings. PENSION LIST The pension list for May was approved unanimously. OLD BUSINESS Linebaugh reported that the $30,000 in savings that had been discussed previously to be combined with two investments was not done because of the need for cash flow. A motion to begin benefits earlier, retroactive to May 1986, was approved unanimously. NEW BUSINESS Representatives from Prudential-Bache and from Merrill Lynch gave short presentations concerning the possible investment of pension funds with their companies. The board members will consider the possibilities and talk with the representatives again later. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
