A meeting of the Fire Pension Relief Board was held at 4:30 P.M. on
Monday, March 5, 1984 in the City Manager's Office at Interim City
Hall, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
PRESENT: Treasurer Scott Linebaugh, Fire Chief Logue, Fireman
Boudrey, Dill, Judy and Springston, Sherry Rowe
ABSENT: Chairman Don Grimes and Secretary Suzanne Kennedy
CALL TO ORDER
In the absence of the Chairman, Treasurer Scott Linebaugh called the
meeting to order.
MINUTES
The minutes were approved with the following corrections:
The last sentence on page three should read as follows:
"Springston suggested a figure of no more than $50 per month for 13
full paid retirees which would be an amount of $650 per month for
all 13 eligible beneficiaries."
PENSION LIST
Motion was made by Dill and seconded by Boudrey to approve the pension
list. The motion passed unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Linebaugh presented the members with a copy of the draft of the
letter to be sent to Julia Hughes Jones, the State Auditor, requesting
an actuarial study for a possible increase in retirement benefits.
There were no changes and the Board approved the letter (a copy is
attached to these minutes).

NEW BUSINESS
Arnold D. King has retired from the Fire Department and is requesting
retirement benefits of one-half of his salary of $1536.84, which would
entitle him to $778.42 per month beginning March 1, 1984.
Fireman Judy, seconded by Dill, made a motion to approve this request.
The motion passed unanimously.
Mr. Linebaugh stated he had talked with the Fire Pension Board in
Little Rock about when the $50.00 increase in benefits for the full-time
retirees should go into effect. The recommended date was April 1,
1984.
Fireman Dill, seconded by Judy, made a motion to approve this date.
The motion passed unanimously.
Mr. Linebaugh stated the next investment would be due on April 24,
1984.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business before the Board, the meeting adjourned at
4:50 P.M.
