A meeting of the Fayetteville Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund was held at 11:00 AM on June
28, 2007 in Room 326 of the City Administration Building
Mayor Coody called the meeting to order.
Present: Mayor Coody, Pete Reagan, Gene Warford, Marshall E. Mahan, Marion Doss,
Deputy City Clerk Amber Wood, Marsha Farthing, Trish Leach and Wendy Moore,
Accounting.
Marion Doss arrived at 11:05 AM.
Absent: Ronnie Wood and City Clerk Sondra Smith.
Approval of the Minutes:
Approval of the May 24, 2007 Meeting Minutes
Pete Reagan moved to approve the May 24, 2007 Meeting Minutes. Gene Warford
seconded the motion. Upon roll call the motion passed 4-0. Marion Doss was absent
during the vote. Ronnie Wood and City Clerk Sondra Smith were absent.
Approval of the Pension List:
Approval of the July, 2007 Pension List — Jennie Hope Lane Deceased
Mayor Coody: When did Mrs. Lane leave us?
Pete Reagan: The 26th I think her funeral is today.
Wendy Moore: The funeral services are Saturday.
Pete Reagan: Gene did you ever work with him? He was a volunteer.
Gene Warford: He was gone before I came on.
Mayor Coody: So he has been retired for quite a while.

Pete Reagan moved to approve the June, 2007 Pension List. Marshall E. Mahan seconded
the motion. Upon roll call the motion passed 4-0. Marion Doss was absent during the vote.
Ronnie Wood and City Clerk Sondra Smith were absent.
Old Business:
Pension Protection Act (Tabled from the May 24, 2007 meeting.)
Mayor Coody: This was tabled from the last meeting and I think this has been tabled several
times.
Pete Reagan: Motion to table again until Kit has time to review the statutes. I talked to Kit
earlier and he is doing a brief and he is not able to join us.
Mayor Coody: Motion and second to table this yet again. Is this the fourth or fifth time to table
this?
Amber Wood: I believe the fourth.
Trish Leach: It has been numerous times.
Pete Reagan: There is a state statue that mirrors this one that was passed in general assembly.
Kit is going to do a comparison.
Mayor Coody: I would just as soon get this taken care of We can't just keep tabling and
tabling it indefinitely. We need to kill it or table it indefinitely. We have a motion and a second
to table, shall the motion pass.
Pete Reagan moved to table Pension Protection Act. Gene Warford seconded the motion.
Upon roll call the motion passed 3-1. Mayor Coody voting no. Marion Doss was absent
during the vote. Ronnie Wood and City Clerk Sondra Smith were absent.
Mayor Coody: Does this take the majority of the body or a majority of those that attend?
Amber Wood: I think the majority of those that attend.
Mayor Coody: Okay it's tabled then.
Pete Reagan moved to table Pension Protection Act. Gene Warford seconded the motion.
Upon roll call the motion passed 3-1. Mayor Coody voting no. Marion Doss was absent
during the vote. Ronnie Wood and City Clerk Sondra Smith were absent.

New Business:
Jennie Hope Lane Deceased — June 26, 2007
Amber Wood: I included a copy of her obituary in the packet so you would know that she has
passed away.
Election Results: Ronnie Wood and Gene Warford have been elected
Mayor Coody: Anything we need to do on that?
Pete Reagan: No, it just needs to be noted in the minutes.
Longer Investments:
Equity Allocation Overage Report
Mayor Coody: Is Longer Investments going to be here?
Amber Wood: They will be here next month. They come at the beginning of each quarter.
They included a copy of the monthly report along with the equity allocation. We have to
approve the overage.
Pete Reagan moved to approve the equity overage. Gene Warford seconded the motion.
Upon roll call the motion passed 5-0. Ronnie Wood and City Clerk Sondra Smith were
absent.
Monthly Report
A copy of the Longer Investments monthly report was given to the board.

Amber Wood: The Longer View is included in your packet and it's just informational. It's a
pamphlet provided by Longer Investments.
Mayor Coody: Any other business?
