Director Harrison reviewed the attached financial and statistical reports for May, 1985. She pointed out expecially the 3250 spent for removal of a storm - damaged tree and 3121.76 for the Grace Keith reception. She also presented a copy of her letter in response to Helen Rice as directed at the May board meeting. The copy is attached. Director Harrison and board members reported onthe Grace Keith reception. It was considered a real success, with a good turnout. Gifts to the Grace Keith Genealogical Collection were received from DAR, DAC, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kirchen. The Board expressed its appreciation for Lois Miller's service as chair- man for the reception. Completion of the roof replacement work was reported. There are no leaks currently. The damaged ceiling is not an insured loss. Repair of the ceiling will recuire a minimum of two weeks, when the library must close. Director Har- rison recommended 1986 rehabilitation because the damage is cosmetic and adjusting vacations to the closed time would be difficult for the current year when some people have already taken vacations. The Board discussed the possibility of setting up limited servio to keep personnel from losing desired vacation schedules. Carol Wright described a possible procedure used by the Rogers, AR library during a similar situation. The Board decided to postpone the ceiling repair until next year and investigate possible methods of maintaining service through the repair period. Director Harrison recommeded getting an estimate of the condition of remaining street trees and the cost of removal. It was suggested that there might be a possibility of consulting the University of Arkansas horticulture department. Margaret Salassi volunteered to follow up with the department. A dumpster and a refrigerator were submitted as desired equipment. Dinector Harrison was instructed to investigate the purchase of the dumpster. Discussion indicated the refrigerator has a low priority use. The Board decided to consider it for the 1986 budget. Director Harrison reported that inventory is proceeding on a "when possible" basis. The meeting adjourned at 4:40 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Bobbye ay, Secre e
