Board of Directors Meeting
January 114, 1985
Present: Robbin Anderson, President; Bobbye Hay; Jane House; Linda Harrison,
Director° Carol Wright, Ozarks Regional Library: Pat Donat, North
west Arkansas Times.
Director Harrison presented the attached statistical and financial reports.
She pointed out that the Financial Report was for the full 198)4 fiscal year; no
quarterly report was submitted. In response to a question about the adequacy of
cash for January, she stated that with the addition of expected revenue, cash
would be adequate.
Old Business:
Budget:
President Anderson reported on the budget meeting with city officials.
The Budget Committee ruled that the requested library roof replacement was
a captial item not to be considered part of the operating budget. Salaries
still are under discussion. The current guideline is 4 per cent above 1984,
with upgrading as indicated in the personnel study.
Director Harrison presented a revised 1985 budget, explaining changes
from the original 1985 budget submitted. Capital items were dropped; the
pay grades were based on the personnel study interviews. The Board discussed
the eligibility of part-time personnel for longevity pay, Blue Cross -Blue
Shield health insurance, and life insurance. It was decided that personnel
working fewer than 1000 hours per year would not be eligible. Director
Harrison was directed to ask the proper city officer about policy for
3000 hours to full-time.
Bobbye Hay made a motion to submit the revised budget; Jae House
provided the second. The motion was approved unanimously.
New Business:
Director Harrison reported problems with disruptive shildren in the
genealogical section. The Board recommended putting up a sign indicating
that quiet was required in the area.
