MEETING MARCH 12, 1984 4:00 PM
Members present: Robbin Anderson, Linda Harrison, Bobbye Hay,
Bob Rains, Margaret Salassi.
Guest: Pat Donat, Northwest Arkansas Times.
Librarian Harrison presented the attached statistical and
financial reports. Funds were received from both the City of
Fayetteville and Washington County. The annual audit is in
progress.
The Ozark Regional Library lease was discussed. The Board
recommended charging 20% of janitorial supplies, which is
the same percentage of janitorial salary charged.
Board Chairman Robbin Anderson read a letter from Frank Sharp
stating that Jane House has been named to the Library Board.
This was the last meeting to be attended by Bob Rains as a
member of the Board. Upon motion by Bobbye Hay, seconded by
Margaret Salassi, the Board unanimously approved a special
commendation to Bob Rains for his years of service.
Librarian Harrison presented the results of the energy audit.
The audit indicated that approximately $2,500 a year in energy
costs could be saved by installing florescent in place of
incandescent lights and using a time control on the heater and
air conditioner. These changes would cost about $4,000. The
Board recommended a review of the 1984 budget for possible
available funds.
Chairman Robbin Anderson announced that election of officers
would be held at the April meeting.
Bob Rains expressed his enjoyment of work with the library,
stating that he had elected to be appointed to the library
board instead of the hospital board and was glad he had made
that decision.
The Board adjourned at 4:25 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Bobbye S. Hay, SecretLry
