HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-09-20 MinutesMINUTES OF LIBRARY BOARD Sept. 20, 1982 PRESENT: Anderson, Miller, Rains, Foster, Wright, Salassi Linda Foster presented the statistical and financil reports. Of note in the financial report was the fact that utilities were up. A bill for a new card catalog for the Children's Department was charged to the furniture fund. The Board unanimously accepted as written the rewording of the Rules and Regulations for the use of the Auditorium. The proposed budget for 1983 was discussed. There is a 12% increase from 1982 to 1983. There is a 16% increase for the city of Fayette- ville. Utilities are up because of the fuel adjustment. Office supplies have doubled, but this figure has not be increased since 1979. There was a suggestions to ask the City for extra funds for book purchases from revenue from the new tax. The Board was asked to read the budget carefully and see if there are any other areas which need to be examined. Friends of the Llbrary will be having a book sale on Oct. 16. Friday book reviews are being revived. Ms. Jessie O'Kelly will do the first with a review of The Colle cted Short Stories of Eudora Welty. Elizabeth Danley will do the next one in November on "Gift Ideas for Children". On October 6, Wednesday, from 2pm to 3pm there will be a small get together to honor Mr. Al Gerlach for his work of indexing the obituaries from 1868 to present. The Friends of the Llbrary will be asked to help with this ocassion. Ms. Wright gave a brief, but interesting history of Ozark Regional Llbrary.
