MINUTES BOARD OF DIRECTORS FAYETTEVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY cont. 9)Ms. Miller brought up the fact that many libraries charge more for fines and overdue books and asked if we should update our charges. A discussion followed but not motion was made. 10)Mr. Anderson brought up an article which was mailed by Ms. Miller to all members of the Board. The article was in THE TULSA WORLD and discussed the need for libraries to have legal counsel. A discussion followed. The Fayetteville Public Library has dealt1he the city legal office in the past, but in a situation of censure the city's attorney may well be the one who would prosecute. The question of whether the library should consider the question of counsel was raised. The idea was suggested that perhaps the "Friends of the Library" could help line up some friendly lawyers, perhaps, a former board member, if the need should arise. There being no futher business, the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Margaret Salassi Secretary
