Present: Board Members Camilla Crouch, Bobbye Hay, Foster Park,
Carol Phillips; Library Director Linda Harrison
President Bobbye Hay called the special ieeting to order at b:00 p.m.
Discussion followed of capital improvements to be submitted to the
City for 1991 budget consideration. Smaller items, including a new
film projector and card catalog expansion, will appear in the operations
budget later.
Principal attention was devoted to possible elevator replacement; the
problems of capitalizing the book collection, perhaps causing more
trouble and expense than it is worth; the possible need for a new
telephone system, once the expansion into the MedArk Building is
accomplished; and the need for furniture for the Genealogy Department
as it moves into the MedArk Building.
Passed unanimously was the motion by Carol Phillips, seconded by
Camilla Crouch, to approve Director Harrison's requests for capital
improvements as follows:
architectural planning and construction $38,000.00
furniture 11,284.00
anticipated elevator replacement and/or 50,000.00
repair and maintenance
The meeting was adjourned at 4:L.0 p.m.
