The first order of business was a continuation of the earlier discussions with Mike Milligan about plans for some replanting, etc., of the lawn to repair damage due to drought and for reestablishing a regular program of care and maintenance. Mr. Milligan had revised estimates for replanting, etc., to about $765 total and proposed a maintenance program of some $1300 for the year. On motion by Mr. Shelton, the Chairman and the librarian were authorized to negotiate on this basis_- specific arrangements to be dependent in part on the weather conditions. The Board was given summary information on the City's plans for insurance and retirement of employees. These have been discussed with employees; and it was voted that estimates for those wishing to participate should be included in budget figures for the coming year ( to be discussed next month). Mrs. Foster also reported that the City bond monies for the library expansion still have sufficient balance to cover the extra costs submitted by Warren Seagraves. It was noted that we should check to see whether the bond money can also be used for the new lawn and plantings around new construction. Mrs. Foster also received authorization for two of the staff to attend the Arkansas Library Association Conference - travel allowances, etc., to be on the same basis as last year. Mrs. Wright raised questions about 1 possible provisions for "bike trails" for the library area in the City's plans 2 provision of some practicable wall or barricade for the Ozarks Regional Library 3 possible provision for "handicapped parking" for the talking books library. The discussion of general library organization for the area (including in particular the Ozarks Regional Library) was deferred until the next monthly meeting. Mr. Shelton reported that he is continuing to check into the problem of glass insurance. Submitted by, Robbin C. Anderson
