MINUTES, BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
The Board of Directors hdld its regular monthly meeting at 4:00 p.m.
August 11 with Martha Brewer presiding. Bob Rains, David Parker and Carol
Wright were not present.
Mike Milligan submitted a plan for restoring and replanting the lawn.
Action on this was deferred to the September meeting.
Linda Foster made the regular reports of circulation and finances.
Both circulation and new registrations were above the 1979 level and, not
surprisingly, utilities costs were also considerably higher. She also reported
another instance of vandalism (front window broken again).
On a motion by Goerge Shelton, approval was given for the staff to hold, as
in previous years, its annual workshop from August 27 through September 1 (these
to be "free days" for borrowers of books).
The Board also authorized the librarian to express recognition and apprecia-
tion of the gift of a set of art encyclopedias by Bunn and Louise Bell. (It was
noted that a new wall plaque will now be needed.)
The meeting was then adjourned.
