The Fayetteville Public Library Board of Directors met at 4:00 p.m.
Members present were Robbin Anderson, Martha Brewer, Bob Rains, and
Dottie Wood.
The librarian's and treasurer's reports were presented (see attached).
The Board agreed to wait on their decision to raise the fee for the
use of the auditorium until a study can be made on the heating/cooling
costs of the room.
A bid from Ozark Floor Company to repair damaged linoleum was presented.
Martha Brewer moved to accept the bid and to pay for it from the Furniture
Fund. Robbin Anderson seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
Dottie Wood informed the Board that she has decided not to re -apply
for a position on the Board. Mrs. Wood based her decision on the option of
spearheading the organization of a "Friends of the Library" group.
Martha Brewer introduced a motion to employ another full-time adult
services librarian. The salary for this position will come from money
transferred from the Furniture Fund into the operating budget. Dr. Anderson
seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
In other business, the Board agreed to hold their "open house" on Thursday,
April 3 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Also, the Board agreed with a suggestion from
Mrs. Wood to review employees' benefits for inclusion in the 1981 budget.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
