Fayetteville Public Library
August 13, 1979
The Fayetteville Public Library Board of Directors met at 4:00
Members present were Robbin Anderson, George Shelton, and Dottie
Wood.
The librarian's and treasurer's reports were presented and are attached.
The Endowment Fund report was presented (attached).
Linda Foster reported that Bonnie Guinn (head of housekeeping services
at Washington Regional Medical Center) has recommended that we hire someone
to thoroughly clean the building in an attempt to bring it up to par.
The estimated cost of this including labor, equipment and supplies will be
around $1,000.00. George Shelton moved to spend the $1,000, Robbin Anderson
seconded the motion.
The Board also discussed the janitor's salary needing to increase with
the increased floor space. Bonnie Guinn recommended $500.00/month as a
fair figure.
Dottie Wood presented two bids for the exterior painting. The one
from Pennington for $16,800.00 and one from Jack Burge for $,204.30.
The Burge bid was issued in compliancefwith the architect's specifications.
George Shelton moved to accept Jack Burge's bid. The motion was
passed/
In other action, the Board agreed to retain Kathy Trice on the staff
after her CETA contract expires on September 30.
