Members present were Bob Rains, Dottie Wood, Robbin Anderson, and George Shelton. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the problem encountered with waterproofing the north wall. Mr. Jack Burge had three suggestions: 1) Excavate four feet down along the wall and then waterproof; 2) Excavate completely and waterproof; and -4'3) Fill the existing weep -holes and install more downspouts. Mr. Burge explained that he could make no guarantee for #1, that #2 would cost approximately $12,500, and that he would recommend that we try the third suggestion. Mr. Don Grimes informed the Board that we only have about $1,000 remaining from the bond issue but that funding would be made available if we should have to excavate the entire wall and waterproof. Linda Foster asked if more cabinets could be installed in the workroom area. It was agreed that the architect would make some preliminary drawings for cabinets. Also, Linda Foster asked if it was time to order carpeting for the children's department. The Board asked that samples be presented at the next meeting. Mr. Rains received a letter from Mr. Kennan which prompted further discussion about the lease. To the lease agreement which the Board authored, Mr. Kennan reacted to three points. 1. He would prefer a minimum -3-year lease. 2. He thought the new rate was excessive. 3. He disliked the fluctuating cost of shared utilities. Mr. Rains asked for the Board's opinion so that he could answer Mr. Kennan. It was agreed to stand firm considering the time and thought that was given to the preparation of the lease, and the rate of $2 per square foot is not excessive. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Submitted by, Linda Foster
