The Board of Directors of the Fayetteville Public Library met at 4:00.
on Monday, November 13. Members present were Bill Bassett, Martha Brewer,
George Shelton, and Dottie Wood.
Mr. Shelton announced that the contract with Jack Burge Construction
Company has been signed and that the Escrow Agreement is on file at the
First National Bank of Fayetteville.
Mrs. Brewer presented the Treasurer's Report. She also reported that
Ed Heunefeld has been notified that his bookkeeping services will not be
necessary next year. Mr. Heunefeld agreed to do the audit and offered to
provide any necessary assistance.
The Librarian's Report was presented.
Mrs. Wood volunteered to oversee the maintenance of the grounds and the
general upkeep of the building for the next year.
Mr. Bassett reported, in regard to the boy who rode a bicycle through
the plate glass door, that our insurance has no plate glass coverage, no
liability coverage, and no coverage for vandalism and malicious mischief.
It was decided that the library should pay for the glass replacement and that
the matter be dropped.
The Board decided to close the library on the Saturdays of December 23 and
December 30 for the Christmas and New Year holiday with the stipulation that
there be adequate publicity. They also agreed to allow Sue Walker a two-month
leave of absence due to pregnancy.
A ground breaking ceremony was scheduled for Wednesday, November 15.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
