Fayetteville Public Library
August 14, 1978
The Board of Directors of the Fayetteville Public Library met
at 4:00 p,m, on August 14. Members present were Dottie Wood,
Martha Brewer, and Bob Rains.
The librarian's and treasurer's reports were presented and
are attached,
Martha Brewer discussed the possibility of the librarian
taking over the bookkeeping instead of hiring an accountant.

contract with the current bookkeeper. g year's

sculpture "Four -by -Four". Mr, Wilson has beenegiventaon estimaten of his
of $330,00 by Gary Lundsford. As for possible donors, they suggested
contacting utility companies, financial institutions, local manufac-
turers, or the contractor. Further, they offered to do the necessary
soliciting for a donor, Bob Rains moved to accept the work and to
approve solicitation for a donor. The motion carried,
Linda Foster requested that the library be closed to the public
on August 31 through September 4 for an end -of -summer workshop. It
was approved, providing there is adequate publicity prior to closing.
The librarian also asked for and received approval to purchase a calculator
for the library.
Representatives for Segraves and Associates were present with the
working drawings. Included in the discussion were three alternate bid
items:
Alternate #1 - Enclose the bridge
Alternate #2 - Install a display case in the enclosure
Alternate #3 - Reclaim the brick that is on the north and east
walls for use on the extended north and east
walls.
They have applied for the wage determination and expect to
receive approval by the end of August. They feel that bids can
be in and construction begun in October.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
