Fayetteville Public Library
July 10, 1978
The Board of Directors of the Fayetteville Public Library met at
4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10. Members present were George Shelton,
Martha Brewer, Dottie Wood, and Bill Bassett.
The librarian's report was presented and is attached. Martha
Brewer presented the treasurer's reports for June and the Half -Year.
The library wi11 receive $1,752.26 above the estimated $33,000 from
Washington County. The Board revised the budget to include the 1,752.26
in the Furniture and Equipment Account totaling that account to $2,452.26.
M. Shelton read a letter from Elizabeth Danley, Children's Librarian,
about Tom Wilson's sculpture "Four -By -Four". it. Shelton asked for a cost
estimate and a drawing of the work. Also, the board requested suggestions
for a possible patron.
The Board approved the purchase of a gasoline -powered "weed -eater" for
the library.
Representatives from Segraves and Associates were present to discuss the
time schedule and possible materials to be used on the exterior of the
addition.
After the wage -rate determination hearing scheduled for July 21, the
architects will submit a wage -rate proposal to the Employment Security
Division. Allowing 30 days for the Division's approval and 3 weeks for
bids, the earliest starting date will be in October.
There followed a general discussion of materials to be used on the
exterior of the addition. Suggestions included aluminum panels, concrete
blocks, and a compatible brick.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
