Martha Brewer presented the Treasurer's Report and the First Quarterly Report. Mr. Shelton recommended that on future quarterly reports that 4 of the budget appear in a separate column for comparison purposes. The Librarian's Report was read and approved. Mr. Shelton welcomed Mr. Bob Rains to the Board of Directors. Linda Foster recommended that due to the heavy demand on the microfilm readers that a voluntary two-hour limit be imposed on the use of the machines. She reported that the University Women's Club has donated $25.00 to the library and that several other local organizations have offered to donate a piece of equipment or furniture. It was requested that a record be kept of all such donations. Mr. Shelton reported that the bond issue will be bid on April 18 and funded 15 days later. The bills for the building program will be sent to the City Comptroller's Office for payment. There was a general discussion concerning the selection of local contractors as opposed to out-of-state contractors to do the work on the building. Mr. Bassett requested an estimate of the cost of furnishings and equip- ment that will be needed. Mr. Rains questioned the fact that the library is not open during evening hours. There followed a general discussion concerning current and past difficulties relative to this matter. It was decided to bring this up again after the expansion project is completed. There being nor further business, the meeting was adjourned. Submitted by, Linda Foster
