HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-08-08 MinutesAugust 8, 1977 The monthly meetingoof the Board of Trustees of the Roberta Fulbright Library met at 4:00 on August 8, 1977. Present were Bill Bassett, Narnee Murphy, and Martha Brewer. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. The Jbly financial report was made. It is attached. The report of the librarian was made. It is attached. Narnee Murphy reported that two members of the City Board, Paul Noland and Ernie Lancaster, will meet with her at 1:15 to tour the library. A11 of the city directors are being contacted this week by the trustees concerning our needed expansion.* Mrs. Foster brought up the following items for discussion: 1) Cost of the postage meter would be $495.00 is it is purchased and $27.87 monthly to rent. Mrs. Murphy is to look into the cost of printed post cards for overdue books, stamps, envelopes and stamped envelopes, and stamped window envelopes. 20The possibility of boarding up the place under the overhang where children play.. Mrs. Murphy will talk to the custodian about this. 4 3) The library staff needs to close three days for clean-up and workshop. This could be the Thursday, Friday and Staurday before Labor Day. The Board agreed with this if there is plenty of advance notice. There will be a suspension of fines for these days to encourage people to return lost books. 4) Christmas this year falls on Sunday and the staff would like to know when the library will be closed. Linda is to check with the city offices about what they plan. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Martha Brewer, Secretary
