HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-11-12 MinutesThe Board of the l'ayetteville Public Library met at 4 p.m. ons -Monday, Nov. 12, 1973, with all members present. After the reading of the minutes, Mrs. Keith gave the monthly report of circulation, registration, and petty cash ( attached); summarized the ALA meeting in Little Rock as pleasant as well as profitable; and noted that a newer copying machine had been installed in the library. Mrs. Wright called the attention of the board to the ORL lease: it was suggested that the present form be checked by the city attorney before renewal. She ca also requested that the board investigate library participation in the city's program of hosptialization insurance and pension fund. fir; Williams sug6ested that the matter of Sunday opening be shelved for the duaation of the energy crisis. Unanimously agreed. Mrs.. Murphy presented the monthly financial report (attached) and' noted that the City Administration allowed a credit of 6 183„(130: on the water bill because of the air—conditioning. She asked and received the board's approval for an application for exemption from the tax on communications (telephone). The misplaced check for the taxes on the Carney property remains a mystdry.
