HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-03-12 MinutesThe Board of the Fayetteville Public Library met at 4 p.m. on March 12, 1973, with Directors Williams, Murphy, and Rudolph present. City Manager Donald Grimes was also in attendance. After the reading and approval of the minutes, Mrs. Keith gave the January and February reports of circulation, registration, and petty cash (attached). After Sunday opening was discussed for some time, Mrs. Keith agreed to study, the matter with a view of Sunday opening from one to five beginning in September if possible. She also reported that the lights need further repairs. Mr. Williams that a flow chart of repairs to the lights be kept. To diminish the loss of periodicals, she suggested certain limitations on circulation. The Board asked her to suggest a solution. Mrs. Murphy announced that the final working budget was D 33,280; the Washington County allocation is $ 23,931.21; the balance in the rent account is $ 204.17; the note on the library property has been paid; and that the salary chart has been changed so that the $ 1284 carried on the budget will include Social Security taxes. Mrs. Murphy also called attention to the workshop of the League of Women Voters to be held on Saturday, March 17, the study of the city government being pertinent to the activities of the Bogard. In presenting her February treasurer's report she noted that the city water bill, which is under observation, had not yet been submitted. Finally Mrs. Murphy asked that the secretary write a letter of appreciation to Prof. Doris Cook, wno audited the treasurer's books for the year 1972. ( Letter mailed March 13, 1973). Adj: 5 p.m.
