�-Septe lls 1972, uith all members except Mro Shelton present.
After the reading of the minutesp Mrs* Murphy reported that she
had notified the Arkansas Western Gas Coo to make any necessary
repairs on the air-conditioning equiPmento
Mrs* Keith gave the August report on circulation., registration.4
and petty cash (attached) and mentioned that the sign at the
west drive had been repaired.
Mrs, *ght reminded the Board that the state library association
would meet on Oct. 10-12,, necessitating the delay of the board
meeting one week. She qlso mentioned that the display case had
been ordered*
Mrs. Murphy confined her financial report to an analysis of the
utilities bills.9 which seem to increase geometrically rather
than arithmeticallyo

She also commented that ideally the ALA suggested 1 staff position
for each 2000 populationp that public libraries had to compete
with school libraries paying BS in Library Science $5600 with
increments in ten years to $7500. She also requested that we
consider such problems as branch libraries and/or expansion of
the present library.
