HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-04-10 Minutesi The Board of the Fayetteville Public Library met at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 1972, with all members present. After the reading of the minutes, Mrs. Keith gave the monthly report of eirtulation, registration, and petty cash (attached), and noted the need of lighting repairs. She also reported that the Maude Duncan Memorial Association had asked if the Library would accept its funds ( ca. $800.00) if it disbanded. Affirmative but nothing further. Mrs. Wright announced the Bentonville Trustees Workshop to be held April 28 and expressed hope for our participation or attendance. She also reported the present book stock as 50,937--6% of which was on loan from ORL. The shelving has been ordered from Remington Rand and will arrive 90-120 days from order on March 14* Bids were: Remington Rand: $ 1077.30 Ark. Bus. Systems: 1369.00 Mrs. Murphy gave the monthly and quarterly financial reports (attached), which were cheering. She also reported that she had consulted Arkansas Western Gas Co. about the cost of keeping the meeting room open: the estimated cost of 20 cents per hour seems to make it unwise to forfeit any accruing goodwill by raising the fee. Mrs. Keith requested the Board to Library was getting heavy use and distant future. Mr. IdI liams took the City to see if labor could be of the materials* keep in mind the fact that the will need painting in the not too note and suggested that he approach supplied if the Library bore the cost Nor. Williams reported no prSgress on the sale of the Read property: Mr. Bill Bassett has offered his legal services to the Library and it is possible that he can assist Mr. Malone.
