HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-03-13 MinutesThe Board of the Fayetteville Public Library met at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 132 1972, with Mr. V41liams, Mr. Rudolph, and Mrs. Murphy present. Also in attendance were Mrs. Grace Keith, city librarian, and Mrs. Carole Wright, regional librarian. The minutes were read and approved. Mrs. Keith announced that the exit to the parking lot had not been blocked recently, or at least there had been no complaints. Mr. WJIliams reported that city attorney David Malone discrepancy in the abstract to the Read property that a delay but that notice should be published and bids the next regular meeting of the library board* had found a had caused taken before Mrs. Keith gave the monthly report of circulation, registration, and petty cash (attached). She requested and received the boardts approval for the replacement of resigned Mrs. Elizabeth Wagner by Barbara Swayze and the temporary replacement of Jan Trumbo by Michaela $eard (for the sumQner) at the same salaries. Approved. She also noted that the library meeting room had been used last week by fifteen groups for daytime meetings. Mrs. Murphy raised the question of the fee for night meetings: since the present $2 charge pays only the custodian,, should it not be increased to cover heating and lighting?: Mr. 'Williams asked her to took into the precise costs. Mrs. Murhpy gave the financial report (attached) and noted that the city allocation of $+1$2.50 should be received before the end of March. After a general discussion of the need for shelving, Mrs. Wright was asked to inquire into the prices and dates of possible delivery. AdJ: 4:45 p.m.
