HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-05-17 MinutesThe Board of the Fayetteville Public Library met at 4 p.m. on May 17, 1971, in the auditorium. All members except Mr. Shelton were present. After the minutes were read and approved, Mr. Williams reported that 97 lights had been obtained ffom the city warehouse and were either installed or stored at the library. Mrs. Murphy reported that the Girl Scouts had planted a shrub in the yard. Mrs. Keith reported: 1. the floor covering in the new wing is wrinkling and needs to be glued and rolled. 2. the Deal Memorial now amounts to $250.00. 3. the summer reading program will include a Thursday trailer session at the Boys' Club. 4. additional staff for shelving and housekeeping will require the hiring a Inal.f-time attendant. 5. a bambooblind for the east window has been purchased from petty cash for 432.$0. A 6. monthly circulation, registration, and petty cash reports are attached. The increased number of visits by pre-school children and school groups indicates a continued interest in the library. Mrs. Murphy announced that the budget, although strained, seemed to be in no immediate danger and that some of the maintenance items had been of a major nature that should not recur in the near future.
