Minutes of November 10,1969.
The Board of Trustees of the Fayetteville P-ublic Library held its
regular monthly meeting on November 10,1969 at 4:00 p.m. in the
Board's meeting room.
Present:Boa.rd members;Mr.Webb Williams,Mrs.Lowell Chaney,Mr.Ted Wylie,
Shelton,O*W-McMillen
Librarians:Mrs.Carol Wright,Mrs.G.race Keith.
The minutes of October 13 were read and approved.
The chairman reported that easements for drainage from the lot where
the addition to the library is being built have been officially se-
cured from Mrs.WAlter Lemke and Mr -Cy Carney Jr.
Reports were received from the treasurer and the librarian for the
month of October and are filed. with these minutes.
In reply to the question concerning the payment for magazine subserip-
tions,Mrs.Wright stated that the Regional Library undertakes to pay
for all such subscriptions that a Jobber handles.
The librarian's were requested to propose for Board. approval policies
concerning such matters as references from applicants for librar#
cards,cataloging of juvenile books with adult books(concerning which
matter complaints have been made by patrons),checking out to other
libraries books that we do not check out to our own patrons,and the
lending of records to other libraries in view of the fact that rec-
ords are rather fragile.
The Board approved Mrs.Wrightis proposal to draw up specifications
for bids for equipment needed for the addition to the librAry build-
ing. These specifications will be presented to the Chairman of the
Board for consultation.
The Board adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
