Minutes of September 9,1969
The.Board of Trustees of the Fayetteville Public Library held. its
regular monthly meeting on September 9,1969 at 4:00 p.m. in the
Library Board meeting room.
Present:Board members:Mr.Webb Willi.ams,Mr.TedWylie,B1r.Ellis Shelton,
0. W.McMillen,
Librarians:Mrs.Carol Wright,Mrs.Grace Keith.
The minutes of July 14,July 21,and September 4 were read and approved..
The August meeting was not held because of lack of a quorum.
It is noted for the record that the contract for the building of an
extension to the library was signed on September 5,1969.The follow-
ing personswerepresent:Mr.Wbb Williams,chairman of library board,
Mr.Larry Carter,contractor for the project.Architect Seagraves,and
Mr.Hicks of the State Library Commission. Mr.Williams signed fort -4-i,
City Library Board.
Mrs.Keith reported that the enrollment in the Summer Reading Program
was 650,the largest .since the program began.
The reports of the librarian and the treasurer were received and are
filed with these minutes. a
Mrs.iWright reported on the various programs under way or planned for
the traininglibrary staff in the county system.
The Board adjourned at 4:45 p.m.

Addendum:Mr.Ellis Shelton agreed to write the checks in payment to
the contractor of the library extension project. .
