Fayetteville Public Library Board
December 11,1967
The Board of Trustees of the Fayetteville Public Library held its regular
monthly meeting on December 11,1967 at 4:00 p.m.in the board room.
Present:Board members:Mr.Webb Williams,Mrs.Lowell Chaney,Mr.Ellis Shelton,
Mr.Ted Wylie,O.W.MeMillen;
Librarians:Mrs.Hazel Deal,Mrs.arace Keith.
The minutes of November 13 were read and approved.
The report of the treasurer showed a balance of $5,768.60 on December 1
and $1,054.14 in the house rent fund.
It was voted to present Christmas gifts of $25 each to the three librarivns
and Mr.Omohundro and $10 each to Mary Hawks and Frances Lofland.

The report of the librarian showed a grand total circulation of 12,960 for
November,which exceeded that of November 1966 by 1,474. The registration
figures for November of these two years are 216 and 186 respectively.Such
increases in registrants and circulation show most graphically our great
need for more staff and more funds.
Mrs.Deal reported an additional staff member,Mrs.Margie Smith,whose main
duties center on the shelving of books.
Mr.Shelton agreed to speak to the City Manager concerning the reappointment
of Mr.Webb Williams and Mr.Ted Wylie for another term on the board. Their
present terms expire on December 31,1967.
