November 13,1967
The Board of Trustees of the Fayetteville Public Library held its regular
monthly meeting on November 1301967 at 4:00 p.m.in the board room.
Present:Board members:Mr.Webb Williams,Mrs.Lowell Chaney,Mr.Ellis Shelton,
Mr.Ted Wylie,O.W.McMillen;
Librarian.s:Mrs.Hazel Deal,Mrs.Grace Keith.
The minutes of October 9 were read and approved.
The chairman reported that there seemed to be hope of an increase of
appropriations from the city toward the library budget to permit us to
raise salaries.
The report of the treasurer showed a balance of $1,900.35 at the end of
October. The rent fund now amounts to $979.14.
The report of the librarian showed a grand total circulation of 12,617 for
October,which contrasts with 10,590 for October 1966. Total registration
for October of those two years was 241 and 156 respectively. These figures
illustrate the continuing need of staff increase.
Mrs.Deal reported the acquisition of six copies of a book issued by the
Arkansas Library Commission,listing works by Arkansas authors and works
of others writing on the Arkansas locale. The Commission
with these six copies of this valuable compilation.
