room.The secretary presided in the absence of the chairman.
Present:Board members:Mrs.Lowell Chaney,Mr.Ted Wylie,Mr.Fllis Shelton,
O.W.MeMillenf
Lilrarian:Mrs.Grace Keith.
The minutes of September 11 were read and approved.
Mrs.Chaney presented the report of the treasurer for September and
for the third quarter of this year.The balance at the end of Septem-
ber was $4,411.10 and for the quarter,with the oontingehcy fund
deducted,$2,911.10. A balance in the rent fund of $904.14 was
reported.
Mrs.Keith reported a grand total circulation for September of 11,425,
which contrasted with 9,226 for the same month in 1966.Registration
of new library patrons was 167,of whom 135 were adult and 32 juvenile.
The report of the librarian showed 17,9.90 books in the library and in
addition 16.,831 on loan from Ozarks Regional Library,making atotal
book stock for our use of 34,821. 1
Mrs.Chaney made a preliminary budget proposal for presentation to
the city.By common consent it was agreed that a notation should be
made concerning future needs of the library for'salary increases.
The board adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
