Fayetteville Public Library Board
Minutes of January 10,1966
The Board of Trustees of the Fayetteville Public Library held its
regular monthly meeting at 4:00 p.m. on January 10,1966 in the
board room. The secretary presided.
Present:Board members:Mrs.Lowell Chaney,Mr.Ted Wylie,O.W.MeMillen;
Librarians:Mrs.Hazel Deal,Mrs.Grace Keith.
The minutes of December 13,1965 were read and approved.
Mrs.Chaneyfs financial report for 1965 showed a balance on hand for
January 1,1966 of $3,345.84,in addition to which there is the con.
tingency fund of $1,500.
It was voted to approve the proposed budget for 1966 as presented
by the treasurer,Mrs.Lowell Chaney.This budget provides for some
much needed salary increases.
From statistics furnished by Mrs.Keith and compiled by Mrs.Chaney,
In connection with the use made of the meeting room,it was learne
that during 1965 some seventeen organizations used the room170 $
Ing morning hours,51 in the afternoons,and 7 in the evening hours.
Mrs.Deal reporter] a grand total circulation for December of 9,562 and
99 registrations.The grand total circulation for 1965 was 152,838
over against 151,197 for 1964.
Mrs.Deal also reported the book stock on January 1,1966 to be
16,801 and on loan from the Ozarks Regional Library,13,826,making
a total of 30,627.
It was voted to authorize the purchase of all needed light fixtures
over the whole library.
The meeting adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
